Membership is not required to attend Prineville Nazarene Church.
The purpose of membership is to provide church attenders with an opportunity to offer their voice in church matters/business.
The purpose of membership is to provide church attenders with an opportunity to offer their voice in church matters/business.
Becoming a member of the church is similar to owning a house rather than renting. When you are renting, your voice may not be heard when changes are needed. When you are an owner, your vote counts.
As a member, you will be able to vote for:
- New board members, some leadership positions, and Prineville Nazarene delegates (Denominational representatives).
- Decisions in regards to property owned (for sale or purchase) by Prineville Nazarene.
- Removal of pastor, board member, or leader when appropriate.
- A senior pastoral candidate during time of pastoral transition.
All churches in the Church of the Nazarene are member driven. Voting members have the power to elect and remove members of the board of directors, including the pastor. Non-profit organizations without membership allow for all decisions to be made by the board of directors, including who can be on the board.
