Salvation
The bad news of sin…
We are sinners, no matter how nice we are, how good we are, or how many people we help. A sinner is how we are born, it is inescapable.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23a – For the wages of sin is death…
The Good News of Jesus Christ!
We might not be able to escape being a sinner, but thanks to Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose again, the penalty and price for being a sinner has already been paid. We can escape the judgment of God and be freed from the bondage of sin in our life.
Romans 6:23b – …but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord!
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
Romans 10:9-13 – that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Do you want salvation? Do you want to escape death and have eternal life in Jesus Christ?
The choice is yours. If you do, then it’s simple. Read again Romans 10:9-13 and do just what it says. Cry out to God with a prayer like this…
“God, I am a sinner and I am in need of a Savior. I confess all of my sin to you and am sorry for my unbelief. Today, I realize and believe that Jesus Christ died for me and paid the price that I could not pay. I accept that precious gift of salvation. I believe Jesus died and rose again. I want You in my life and I want to live the rest of my life for You. Amen.”
God’s Promises to those who accept Him…
You are free from sin…
Romans 6:5-7 – For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;for he who has died is freed from sin.
Christ lives in you…
Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
